This adapter kit will replace the old CIAR transformer/control box that had the 2 connections - 1 telephone plug from the handset and 1 2 pin from the motor. It is available with either a 2 button round controller to replace your
present one which has a telephone type plug - The new round controller has a 5 pin plug. Alternatively you can
have a 2 button hand held controller (see pictures)

You will need to cut off the 2 pin plug on the lead from the motor and replace it with the 2 pin (1 flat and 1 round)
pin plug supplied - this has screw terminals so no soldering involved.

The kit comprises of a new transformer with mains lead - controller (either round or handheld) - adapter lead and replacement plug.

I ordered the supply adapter kit for my leather recliner, received it by first class post, installed it with ease the same day and my recliner is back to full working order saving me the cost and inconvenience of having to order a complete replacement chair.

After some investigation I found that the control box/ transformer unit was faulty. I ordered from Reclinersparesuk a replacement kit for £78 on the 17th of September and it arrived on the 18th of September. Fitted in less than an hour brilliant. It took me longer to remove the original two button shrouding as some are twist to release but my one turned out to be a pop off one, so there are two types. If i had realised this at the beginning i could have fitted the new kit in 15mins very impressed. The original two button assembly had to be replaced as the old one had a different design of connector and actual switching unit

Excellent replacement for CIAR SU08 / M1

Delighted with this replacement power supply / transformer for my broken CIAR SU08 / M1. Also comes with a replacement switch (2 button built in version) which fitted my old recliner arm perfectly.

Easy to fit - just need to cut one cable (from the motor) and wire up the attached 2 pin plug. Comes with cable ties to hold everything in place - I attached round one of the spars of wood with a little persuasion to open up a gap for the ties.

Not cheap but if it keeps my chair working for another few years then I'm happy!

I actually took a chance on buying this as there were no reviews,

I wanted it to replace SU08/M1 which had stopped working on a recliner chair, from start to finish it took about an hour, really easy to swap over from the old fittings to the new, all up and running again.

So if you’ve got a faulty one don’t hesitate to replace.
